Thanks to the Hallyu enthusiasm, BB creme (which stands for blemish balm) was hailed as the hottest thing when it hit the stores in the 80s as it was claimed to not only cover blemishes but also moisturise, polish and calm the skin. Today’s variations offer a whole lot of other properties such as anti-ageing, pore tightening, sun protection and skin regeneration. According to Estee Lauder highest-ranking make-up artist Adrian Sin, essentially BB creme is a multi-functional product meant to cover imperfections and act as a replacement for fundamental, with treatment properties thrown in. WHEN the Germans introduced BB creme in the 60s, they probably had no inkling that it would take off in such a spectacular manner. The Koreans were the ones who took it to a whole new lay waste.
