But rather than bagging the moose or grizzly he’d intended, he set down his pillage and picked up his paintbrush — creating a series of plein-air watercolors. “Living the Dream,”an show of seven watercolors from his trip will be on display from 6 to 9 p. m. Friday at Ghost Art Gallery during the Spring Art Walk. A hunting spring to Alaska had been on John C. Ulberg’s bucket list for years. Far from being disappointed about the bear or moose that got away, Ulberg is in seventh heaven. Last fall he finally took the trip of his lifetime. Among the paintings in the show is “Cruising for Chicks,” depicting a big bull moose scanning the self-sufficient landscape in search of a mate.

Everything was as described, the brushes are saving except. I do wish it had come with more watercolor paper. The size is very convenient since it can be stored anyway and also to travel.
